Why do they always choose odd times of year to decide to go broody?

I don't know if that's good or bad.

The broodies must've stolen them. Or they stayed up too late watching the Northern Lights and they're too tired to lay.

Now if only I could find a lunch bag that was equally durable.

Matthew has already torn holes in his.

Hrm, maybe I should try Jansport backpacks. But I like the Land's End ones. Esp for my boys who put icky sweaty shoes in their backpacks and ugh, the stink never comes out, so I want to replace the stupid things.

But the Land's End lunch bags are pretty durable. Well, as much as any of them are. I can get 1 year out of them usually.

If any of you ever wonder why government projects go over budget - ask me. I could tell you.

I've sent in 3, so far and have had them all replaced. DH and I both beat up our college bookbags by the time we graduated - zippers quit zipping and both had huge holes at the bottom, so sent them both in back in 1999 and got new ones. One of them I've been using as a diaper bag off and on for the last 11 years. Picked up another bookbag at a yardsale for $1 and it disintegrated in the wash, so got that one replaced, too. Matthew started using that one for school last year.

The kids have been using them for the last few years. This year they asked why they don't get new bookbags every year like their friends. I told them I bought their bookbags to last, so I didn't have to buy them every year. I also bought tiny LL Bean bookbags for when they were in Kindergarten and 1st grade.

Now if only I could find a lunch bag that was equally durable.

I was glad too.

I still have my jansport backpack from 5 yrs of college. Shane steals it for everyday use (poker games or whatever) and I use it camping.

I could tell you also. It's just a snafu. Every government project is like this, thus snafu. Not a clusterhug. But the government itself is fubar, so snafus should be expected.
