Dacs is gonna kill me for talking chickens on this thread LOL. But how could I have prevented them? I use DE and seven dust, I change the bedding regularly (though this time I didnt scrub the roosts I just scraped them clean). Its just getting chilly here and its wet and rainy (figures we'd get rain when I need sunny weather LOL). I'm taking up Nellas suggestion..
Bath them in flea and tick shampoo from TSC, once they are all dry and fluffy use ivome pour on for cattle (1/2 cc on the back of the neck) Clean coop and sanitize with Permethrin (sp). The a really good tall southren comfort for me!

LOL Nope no Alaska here! The bears scare the poo out of me LOL. I was born in Massachusetts, lived in Buffalo, New York, Philladelphia and Erie, Pa. and a few other places tossed in.

While they might have more lip, they're known for strong shoulders and they don't talk much. ALSO they never complain about what you feed them, and you can let them get dusty without hearing about it. You can have as few or as many as you desire, and the best part......?..... you can put a lid on them and seal them up!

dacs! I hope you're ok!?! Did you make someone angry and get kidney-punched?

Freakin' kidney stones. I tried to tough it out but finally went to the hospital. Time for a major lifestyle change. Drink lots more water and cut way back on the good stuff like chocolate and nuts.
