home with Ava...she was a good girl and cooperated the nurses said. No word yet on the tests. We were both real hungry when we left---had to with-hold food and drink last night so we stopped and shared a club sandwich...she has to eat mild today, no running and jumping, and no stairs since her coordination is off.
They put a baby breathing mask on her lill monchichi toy she brought..and a wrist band...and they took chichi's temp and blood pressure...they did everything to chichi before they did it to Ava. It was funny to see a wee tiny mask on chichi when Ava was rolled out of surgery. Ava was still holding her mask on her nose/mouth and they couldn't get her to take it off...it wasn't hooked up to anything anymore...she was just holding the mask on. sigh...is this a sign of what is to come? They said when little ones come out of anesthesia they can cry and be upset until they wake up and figure out what's going on...I wonder if it was that way with the mask so they said, oh well, let her have it? Plus she got to wagon ride to her surgery...with a lil red wagon and pillows and blankets from the heater thing. She was the only little person at the hospital I saw today and boy did she get a lot of attention.
Her nurses name was Molly and Ava's like, "Hey! Our dog is named Molly!" The nurse said her friends dog is named Molly and will tell her Molly was bad and the nurse will say, "No, I've been good."
yawn yawn sigh....oh and we traveled this morning in crappy weather...snow and my mom was conveniently late to come to my house to babysit Zoe....had to leave at 6:30....be at the hospital at 7 and this is with roads being good mind you. I call Grandma at 6 and she says, I'm putting my boots on and leaving right now...she's 7 min. on nice weather away from my house....she calls at 6:30 to say she can't find her purse and her keys are in it.... AAAAAAARG! So she shows up at my house at 10 to 7...anyone see a problem here? Zoe was asleep but still, I can't just leave her there alone before Grandma gets there. What if she woke up when she heard my car start that's right outside her window and then she'd freak out. I'm going to start to lie to my mom and tell her to be at my house an hour before the actual time so she actually gets here when I'm supposed to leave.
Amazingly though...I got there about 7 minutes late. So it took me 17 minutes. But then I got lost in the labrynth in the basement of the hospital because the check in nurse told me the wrong place to go...so then I was more like 20 minutes late before I found the right place. I blamed the confusion on the staff like any right minded person.
