Okay, this is from a rule-abiding person in a mega-rule-abiding part of the country (not the frontier that you live in, seriously):
so they just build their houses, wire the electricity and do the plumbing themselves and never get inspected for safety, etc?

yep, we don't inspect houses. If you are financing the construction the lender requires inspections, and people can hire an inspector any time they want, but the borough does not employ an inspector for residential.

The fire marshall inspects commercial structures. and multifamily over 5 units.

Big hugs for Batz

Orchie, I feel your pain, but only occassionaly, the kids do whine about anything that isn't take-out but I can ignore almost anything. Our budget allowed us to buy the nice big house, but it doesn't allow for much eating out, too bad soo sad. Tom is a little pickier than I'm used to, he won't eat anything with tomatoes unless they are sauce or ketchup, nor will he nibble olives or mushrooms. Onions, in moderation are tolerable. BUT he eats everything I serve him even if he normally wouldn't. I do try to remember his short list of dislikes, but I must confess, sometimes I get so excited about a recipe I forget what goes in it till I'm setting it on the table. But he eats it so ...

Fluffy, I think you should be my new fashion consultant. the last one never even mentioned fuzzy slippers and really didn't think much of my old "broken in" hoody.

good gravy batz...yours sounds like mine. I think you should read up on borderline personality disorder because I'm thinkin that's what mine has and it makes sense and there's others out there that can relate and well, it's just nice to know we're not alone with livin with a person who can't be spoken to rationally.

huggers,
gretch

'Twas too nice out to spend much time on the computer today. Hope you all are having a good weekend!

Now my 9 yr. old has the squirts and is throwing up and mama don't feel so hot now either.

I was able to get to the drug store and family dollar earlier today to pick up Valentine's day cards and a few extra things to prep for the Valentine's day school parties I volunteered myself for, but seeing that I can't be at 2 places at once...I'm sending Granny to the preschool party this time and I'll do the 2nd grade.

I got whacky fuzzy slipper socks in an assortment of fun Valentiney colors...hot pink and black and pale pink and white stripes...and I put them over our 6 kid bowling pins. I then got 2 bunches of fake flowers in coordinating colors and plan on cutting a flower off and putting them on top of the pins like a flower in the hair type decoration and making the pins look like some kind of Valentine critter with googley eyes...this will go to the preschool class.

I have a ring toss I have to figure out how to "dress up" that I'll bring to the 2nd grade party. I'll rummage through my felt and fleece scraps, yarn, and pipe cleaners to figure something out...and the rest of the fake flowers.

I'll take pics when I'm done with my creations. The trick is I plan on fastening things like to the slipper socks so I can easily remove the gadgets and wear them when the party is done. Or I could make them permanent and use them year after year..... who knows.

Grandma got prizes while she was out today...she got some V-day pencils, erasors, spin tops, candy--individual wrapped twizzler and peice of heart shaped chocolate, and one of those hand held games that has lil holes and you have to make those tiny silver balls fall into each hole.

pencils and tops and game and candy for preschool

I just woke up. I got up at 9 and did the dog thing, the chickens/ducks/turk thing, fed the kids thing...and then watched Swamp people catch "godzilla" and then the cat got on me and that's the last I remember.

I guess I needed that.

I wish I had gotten a nap today. I spent 4 hours bathing and blowdrying dogs.

Toby before the bath. he is 13 years old and was the only one to jump into the tub on his own and ENJOY his bath.

YAY BATH TIME, LOL

Frankie was not thrilled about the bath but behaved himself.

He was happy when the water part was over.

And he looked good afterwards!

Molly was not happy at all.

But she is glorious and clean and fluffy now.

4 hours! To wash those 3 and then blow dry them. Then I had to clean the bathroom from top to bottom. And now I'm washing dog beds and blankets and towels. Phew.

Hard work.
