L,
Thanks for all the info. i was out taking pics. I'll show you the boy I really really like. he's not "english" big but he's substantial and I think he's got a good look his combs just a bit "off". But I figure if I enter him then he gets DQ'd then I can at least get some good feed back from people who know what to "look" for.

I swear, If I see one more person post the incorrect spelling of ORPINGTON, I am going to get banned...........THERE IS NO H IN ORPINGTON!!!!!!

I think they just take a 1/2 point per comb issue, if they're like d'Uccles.

Jim bought me the 2010 Standards of Perfection, so you should call sometime when you're bored and I'll read them to you. Just don't call at 8pm tonight, as we'll be watching Big Bang Theory....
I'm sure there's a lot of info on the standards of orphingtons in there....

I think you should enter as many birds as you can. That gets them ranked for you.
Also, you can find the judges later and ask them questions, usually.

Lori Do you mind telling me how much you paid for you Standards of Perfection? Or where you got it from? If its the one I'm looking at its an expensive book. It was sweet of you hubby to get it for you. I'm also looking for a book on showing, I never done it before and since the show I really want to try my hand at it.

There was a lady selling them at the show you were at. It was $54. You can order online, but then pay shipping charges as well.

There may be a Storey book on showing, but it's not really that hard. Follow the same directions I gave Batty. I did it; It can't be that hard

We found a friendly dude to show us around. We still talk to him every time we see him.

Batty, definitely show him, but show as many as you can afford to. Then you can eyeball them compared to the competition, and see what the judges like and don't like.

Yoiur daughter could be a Batty clone. Beautiful!!
Or is that a school photo of you??

batty....I've got a 2 car garage connected to a wood shop....it'll due.

I don't have many worth showing. Some got eaten by the raccoons and some are not what I was sold so I'm pulling my best guy out and seeing if he makes a show of it. Also see what comes out of all the eggs I'm hatching!
