Office Work.......

Woohoo, more fun for work hours! Some days it's swamped busy and I run around like mad. Some days, it's zip and nothing.

Brought chicken and noodles for food day. For chicken people, it's very boring. My kids would whine because it's so boring. Chicken, chicken stock, basic egg noodles.

For these grocery store people - it's like manna. REAL chicken that tastes like CHICKEN. Fresh noodles. So on, so forth.

Oh well, it's funny every food day here. Same thing, they wonder why the version they make tastes like nothing. Well, because my version is from Evil, Bad Roosters (this batch actually is, older birds, did great in the crock pot for hours) who ate bugs and decent feed and the noodles are from eggs I took the morning I used them.

Not wearing green, more because I don't think I OWN anything work appropriate green clothes. I could have worn an old green polo I have, but since that's been pecked at (hey, it MIGHT be grass with bugs in it...), puked on, pooed on, washed 8.3 million times and so on/so forth - PLUS it will not go over my 15 week pregnant belly - I figured I shouldn't wear it to a professional work environment. However, pinch me and you'll get a 2nd degree black belt in jiu jitsu kicking your butt. So I'm pretty safe.

Plus, I don't really want to eat green frosting right now. Not sure why, just looking at it is making me a little queasy yet. So I'm not going to eat it, this morning sickness needs to get gone already.

Hey Algae, what kind of office work do you do? And do you perform it as excitingly cheerfully as all of us on this thread?

Depends on the week, but I'm with the state Department of Labor. I do rapid response for people who have their jobs outsourced, then if that's not active, I do whatever is needed to fill in. Sometimes it's slow, sometimes it's not.

I do like my job usually. Some days it's a head into the desk from the idiots, but otherwise I like it.

Well, welcome to the Office Work thread. One of us, Michelle, works in state government in Alaska doing permitting of some sort.

You're relatively new here on BYC, either that, or you lurk more than post. We post more than lurk.

I'm wearing green cause it makes my blue eyes look REALLY blue

I am calling this hatch done, 14 Icelandic chicks and one turkey.

I'm eating chocolate pudding.

The evil wench down the hall keeps making excuses why she can't do things any other way than she has been doing it for eons. In a nutshell, the workflow is antiquated and doesn't work. We are reorganizing who does what between to divisions so VickieLee & I have taken most of the processes apart and reorganized the flows, in doing so we have cut the time it takes to process certain permits by 50% and others have been cut by 30% - 40%. We are having to interact with what evil wench is doing and her antiquated system is blocking the progress we need to make so we suggested some changes to her process. She dug in her dry calloused heels and won't budge. BUT she did go down to "her" division and told them she'll compromise with them on how this stuff is being done because (insert sniveling smilie here) she doesn't want us taking her work away from her. HA!

It's the simple things in life that bring me joy like squishing the hope out of wretched souls

That would be local government babe, unlike the state folks, we actually have to get a few things done

Oooh, them's kickin' words! Simmer down, country girl. And besides, since there's only about 30 or 40 people in all the state of AK, the state is "local".
