What's a "manga-folk"? Yes, we can be geeks together! You're right, I think all the characters are girls too. Maybe that's part of the creepy vibe.

Manga are essentially comic books from Japan. Written backwards, they cost approx $10-15 per book. Since they are mostly artwork there's very little reading involved. Most I've flipped through are like romance novels with guys that look like girls....

THere is a "Belief" system in Japan and the orient--the name escapes me now--that pushes aside the idea of gender identification. You are supposed to value the person for the PERSON, not for the gender-specific qualities the possess. It would be like feminism, only with out the who-who-dilly or wanker.

They also value beauty very highly: beauty for beauty's sake. This would go hand in hand with the above.
