oh and DS just called, wants to dye his hair blonde - a la Eminem - I said your 15, you live with the consequences of what you look like afterwards! But and I mean big BUT NO PIERCINGS, STUDS OR TATTOOS!!

I got the typical, ok mom, I just want to dye my hair.

Always told my kids they could do what they want with their hair if they could pay for it and it was within school rules.
The school rule thing was a deal-breaker for a lot of not-so-bright ideas.
DD currently has a swatch of fire-engine red hair, and the underside of the back of her hair is the same color. It's actually kinda cute.

Wow. Nature in action.

Heard a ruckus outside, went out to investigate. There was a young robin on the porch. Callie cat saw it too, and took off after it. Suddenly not 1, not 2 but 4 adult robins were dive-bombing Callie, and the resident mockingbird was helping. Then a male cardinal got in on the action. Poor cat froze and looked at me. I saved her silly calico but.

I've seen a lot of songbird attacks, but never with cooperation from other varities. That was cool!

(off to make sure baby makes it to a cat safe spot. There at least 6 outdoor cats in our neighborhood...)

I felt so bad for them, but how do you tell them not to follow you especially since we are trying to get them more people friendly??
