oh I realized it after the fact, but I hardly remember any of it. Kids thought I had gotten into the funny sauce, never thought to find out if I had been hydrating enough

Oh yea, like play with my pony. Make him eat his dinner in the trailer and me and bunny hang out in there with him while he eats. And thats a good time to put hooflex on his feeties, cuz he doesn't get in the dirt whilest in trailer.

Score for Sparks! "Helpless Help" - I like that. I can be helpless help sometimes, especially when I can't read my bosses handwriting and he's not around to ask.

He probably won't answer until long after we've all given up on hearing from him.

I have a little less than 3 hours to go, but I can't stop dreaming about food. I don't want anything that's at the house though

What I'm craving is some really good barbeque.
Instead I will have potent garlic butter and cheese baked onto wholegrain bread. That's what I was craving last night.
Someday I have to get my cravings and their realizations into the same day....

Good morning!

I did not end up seeing Despicable Me. Both kids were in full tempertantrum mode, so we ended up just running around the outdoor mall in their water park/feature. I love free stuff.

Speaking of free stuff...Ender has 4 cavities and needs another $600 (post-insurance) dental work. Crumbbum. So, I didn't shell out the cash to see a movie, knowing the kids would probably run around and we'd need to leave early anyway.

Went to bed a little too late last night--I am still battling that cold. Not sleeping well. It probably doesnt help that it is still 105 at midnight.

On the plus side, I haven't lost any birds from the extreme heat: anyone who was going to croak died when we went from 99 degrees to 100 degrees. I DO have 3 stupid broodies, who insist on roasting in the nesting boxes. I suspected all the other girls have stopped laying. I went out to mark the eggs last night, and after not collecting for 3 days, there 13 eggs under the 3 broodies. REALLY? I must have a bajillion chickens. BLEH. THE 117 degree, 60% humidity HEAT STINKS!

Remember the scene in Cast Away, with the ice skate blade? That's an option until you're sure the kid will support you grandly in your old age.

WTHeck is this? It looks like a roo, its REALLY leggy and thin, has pointed hackle and saddle feathers, but a small hen-like comb and I watch it get mounted by two roosters last night. The owners say its been mounted a lot, never crows, and never mounts anyone else...but I SWEAR to you its a roo!

I'm glad I was not exposed to bunny cuteness when I was in KY. I would be in the doghouse over it, for sure.

Hooked up the bator Sunday. DH said, "Why can't you just send the eggs to other people to hatch?" He's not happy.

Broody hatched 3 chicks and abandoned the nest. As a result, #4 died. I'm not happy with broody mama. The other eggs are in the bator but I don't expect good results. We had very warm temps, but then rain caused it to cool down over the past 48 hours. Love the rain, sad for baby. Had it been hot, baby would probably have survived

Laree, I had eggs incubating on a coop shelf while the weather was warm. They're in the bator now, too. So at 117/60, your eggs might incubate successfully in the shade....
