I've returned with a bionic tooth. Today is bagel day.........got bumped back a half hour to 9:30. STARVING OMG. If I take 3 advil now, I should be "chewable" by then.

Mama Bean (ha) is flying in from California today. Probably will spend most of her time at my sister's place with the grandbean. Maybe she will come to my place and clean house for me. That would be nice.

Nella, hope you feel better in time for the bagels. I'm sick to death of yogurt and had a cookie for breakfast... Made sure I cheweed on the left side of my face.
I already pre-medicated with 2 Alleve, and will take a 3rd before the appointment at 2:20. I also took a sudafed so I can breathe through my nose again.
I have an alert set on my computer so I remember not to drink any more water after noon. If not, my eyeballs will literally float as they lay me back in that chair....


I am having an appropriately mixed-emotion day for this middle of the week Wednesday. I have a hen and a pullet both failing, but I think I saw my hatchling turkeys near the release site. I wondered how they were doing, and saw exactly 5 young birds hanging out about 100 yards away from where I released them last month.

The hen (snake-bit, I think) is just not showing any real improvement, despite antibiotics and TLC.

The pullet is my favorite goldneck (of course) and I have no idea why she's failing to thrive. I have done all I know to do, checked for everything I know to check for (clear eyes, nostrils, vent, no bugs). Her sister is now twice her weight and a month ago they were equal. Totally depressing as she was one I really wanted to keep!!

If Goldilocks dies then I'm going to put down Mama Blue and bury them together. Silver and gold, sharing a dirt nap.

Today I am having a really hard time understanding why a man in Manchester, CT would do such a thoughtless act! All b/c he got caught stealing he decided since they were going to fire him he'd go off and shoot 10 ppl! 8 died, two in the hosp. and then he took his own life! All basically for getting caught stealing and getting fired!! Why does this stuff happen? I can't even imagine what the families are going through! For me to sit here being confused, sad, and angry all at the same time. They are the ones that lost their loved ones over this Thoughtless act!

So much splort goes on that I will never understand, so I've stopped trying. I feel sad for the families who lost their loved ones. But I know I can never ever understand why.


Thanks for the good vibes on the pullet. If she's still with me this afternoon I'm going to see if I can't rearrange her space a little. I plan to take the baby black d'Uccles outside every day now so they quit fearing me and get used to playing in the dirt and fresh air. So I will take Goldilocks out and let her play near them. I did that yesterday and the change of scenery perked her up just a tad. And she drank a lot of water after she went back in the coop (she had refused water earlier). So I have my fingers crossed she will hang on a bit longer and let me work with her even more. I had already been giving her manna pro and toting her around with me most days I was outside. I don't like leaving her outside unsupervised as I do chores. The babes are in a cage but I don't have one for her that would hold her while letting her explore. Luckily 'my' hawk hasn't been around while I've done chores lately.​

I really need to find a new job! Lately all I do is pick up slack for everyone else! In the last 6 weeks out of 4 of us in the office, 3 have done 2-3 week vacations and guess who gets stuck doing all the work?? Especially when they decide to all do a day on the same day.

I'm gettin burnt out I tell ya. I've been coming on here during the day b/c I need an out that doesn't revolve around INSURANCE!!
