Office Work.......

I can't wear bracelets unless they are made for children, so I make a lot of my own jewelry, too. But my ankles hate bling. I don't wear sandals as much as I used to, since I work in an office kept at sub-arctic temps.

I have always been able to wrap my fingers around my wrist.

It is adorable when my daughter blushes but I keep my mouth shut about it or she'd hide from me.
But she glows as she talks about all the spontaneous hugs she gets. My daughter adores hugs, but she tends to bear hug to the point that people's eyes pop out. So we developed a system where she reaches out and rubs the person's shoulder in greeting, and then they can choose to dive in for the hug or run screaming. A private sociology experiment, I called it. It's worked great because she's getting genuine hugs from many people.

She was very pleased because she hugged me and picked me up the other day. Then she shook me. I can see where her friends might feel a bit intimidated....

Lori, I'd love to get a hug from your daughter. You both sound very huggy and loving. So nice. So much nicer than the timid shoulder touch with butts sticking out and the quick tap tap of hands on your back.

I noticed a few years ago that I unconciously lay my head on peoples shoulders when they hug me, I try not to do that after getting a few "looks".

We are definitely pro-huggers not faux-huggers.

But she really was scaring some kids, and it hurt her feelings when she was avoided by people she likes. The 'sociology experiment' made her more sensitive to their feelings of personal space.

Buffy, she will be glad to hug you. But I can't take responsibility if you hear your spine crack!

I do that sometimes.

My daughter can't, since she's so tall, but she tends to rest her chin on people's heads and they don't appreciate that, either.

Oh Little Grasshopper....so much for you to learn. Cynthia is the real name of Speckledhen and she is the Godmother of all chickens and all BYCers, including Nifty. She is the Flock Queen, the Moderator Above All Moderators, and a real oldie on BYC.

(a curtsy and crossing one's chest is appropriate at this point... if one knew how to do both however... I don't)

Um... get the thread title "LEST" See Your Best Stinkeye. I love the concept and the whole thread, but hello. Change the spelling after all these weeks!

.....am I being an unloving, critical person? Yes.
