Allright folks, I have had a crappy chicken week.

I have been battling chickens with some sort of upper resp problem for almost 2 months now. I've done the reasearch, the treatments, blahblahblah. Trying injectables as a last-ditch effort before we make the decision to cull the flock. Not looking for advice per-se, just want someone who knows/understands to commisserate with.

Tinkle Girl asked why I was sad, and gave me that "They are just chickens" attitude we all know and love so well. I am not a passive-agressive person, so restraining myself from punching her in the pie-hole was a struggle.

Anyway, I was just wondering: can I have a hug?

How long did you wait to re-populate after you culled? I figure a good scrubbing and a Phoenix summer would probably kill anything biological.

My main hangup is the Aloha Project birds. There are 3 that are 90% right. One is perfect. I don't think I will ever get that genetically "lucky" again. I also have chicks that are still inside (including 4 turkey poults). What do I do about them? Do I cull them too? They have no symptoms, and I am super-careful about keeping them quarantined.
