Ack - this is a first! And I brought an apple with me to the office today too! Now I simply MUST eat it, just to keep up with Nel!

Then you will have to count a pushup as being the completion of one body part (or pair) touching the floor (doesn't have to be your chin). Of course this gives you a distinct advantage in sheer numbers of pushups you will be able to complete, seeing as how your elbows will only have to bend about 7 degrees.

My boyfriend's only request is that my bargaining power remain greater than my NellaBeanBelly. So far so good, but its getting close. I had considered using the back steps as a stand in stair machine, but alas, after last week, I don't think I have enough lives left.

All is well. Dr said I'm healthy as can be - no high blood pressure, so swollen ankles, no complications at all to this pregnancy. I'm happy for that because I like to keep things as natural as possible and I don't like too many medical interventions. The baby is very active and constantly moving. All my other kids were in the 6 lb range, but I think he's going to be bigger than they were. We've decided on Jacob Alexander for the baby's name. We both like the name Jacob and Alexander was my grandfather's middle name.

I have more stuff I want to get done before the baby comes, but I don't feel nearly as overwhelmed as I did the other day. Mostly I just want to get the house clean and organzied - always a losing battle.

I decided to bake some of the cookie dough I made yesterday. Last night we had garlic bread with dinner and apparently some chunks of bread fell to the bottom of the oven, so when I turned it on this morning, I set fire to the chunks of bread. In the midst of all the smoke my husband calls and asks me to look into that tax credit for a new heating/cooling system.

It's a 30% tax credit of the entire cost of installation, up to $1500, for qualifying systems. You'll need to get a certificate from the installer that the system qualifies and keep it with your tax returns in case you ever get audited.

If you want, run the brands by me that you're considering, and I'll tell you if they're junk or not.

I'm not sure yet what I'm having for lunch; waiting for the DH to call and let me know where he's at amidst his myriad jobs today.

If he doesn't call soon I may be having chair legs for lunch. I am STARVING.

I don't know why he leaves all the research to me when I know jack about anything mechanical/technical or otherwise having to do with construction.

Down here heat pumps are the most common heating/cooling systems, so I assumed we'd install something like that. I have no idea what brands are good. We installed a Trane on our old house and didn't have any problems with it, but we didnt' really research other options at the time. If you have any advice, I'd love to hear it!

ETA: We should qualify completely for the credit, if the install could be done on time. It's our primary residence, not a new construction, we pay enough in taxes, etc. We'd probably spend over $5000 on a new system anyway and that would qualify us for the max of $1500.

I know a little about it, I own a plumbing and HVAC company with my hubby.

Air source heat pumps or ground source heat pumps? (I am not familiar with what is most typical in your area, I will admit that!) The tax credit for ground source heat pumps is different, it's 30% of the installation, no $1500 cap.

What does your house have right now (i.e. forced air, air conditioner, etc.)? Brand doesn't matter.

Trane is a good brand but not every HVAC contractor can work on them.

I say that we should do as many proper form ones that we can, then have that number as our individual baseline.

Because we are all different, (Dacs and Boyd more than most), the goal will be to be the Most Improved by.... December 1.

Does that sound doable?

There are days I would LOVE to fire myself. Or turn in my resignation to myself. Alas, it is not to be.

Yes painful. Wegot has a point about bum wrists. I have troubles with mine too sometimes so I know that it can get in the way of pushups and some dumbbell moves.

To be able to still work the pushup muscles, I stand in front of a upholstered chair, put my hands on each chair arm and do straight-body pushups that way. That way the hand is curving around a soft surface, rather than smack straight on the floor at an awkward angle. It's not a real pushup, but I bet doing a bunch of those will certainly assist in increasing the number of real pushups when your wrists feel better.

[why am I being so serious??? I'm boring myself!]
