Nells, there's a winery in the next town up from us (Truro), and despite living here 13 years, I've never been there. It's the ONLY winery on the entire Cape of Cod, and have I been there? No. We are dumbbutts.

I have worked out exactly twice so far this week. I feel like a lump. But tomorrow will be a good day for a nice hard workout.

I have had aunt flo and worked out exactly 0 this week, plus eaten copious amounts of chocolate.

I'll balance it next week, when we do Thanks at the sis-in-laws house. She cooks the turkey and debones it on the 24th. So I never eat much there. What fun is it when you can't be there when you carve the bird??

I have ordered an organic turkey from the pasture dude. We'll have it between Thanks & Christmas....

Also getting DD's ears re-pierced this weekend. She let them grow over, after successfully battling an infection

On a happy note, she's been wearing her eyeshadow on the upper eyelid lately, and even wore sparkly lip gloss yesterday.
She still thinks panda eyes are cute. But the guy that kinda likes her has made it clear he's not a panda fan.

A different boy walked her home yesterday after the bus broke down. Eep.
I didn't think she'd outgrown her ugly duckling stage yet, although I could see the swan on the horizon. I guess the boys see the swan on the horizon as well. Ish. Plus, I told her she wasn't responsible enough for driving lessons until she wore her bands enough to get her braces off (in 60 days, if she wears the bands). I meant it, so she's wearing them. What'll I do when she has a blazing smile with no metal to disguise it????

I have a friend who threatens her daughter's suitors with being stabbed by her screenwriting pen if they don't behave. You could try that. (I don't think the pen actually has to be used for screenwriting.)

Cristolino Prosecco for us girly girls who like to sip their wine slowly (to avoid belching our brains out). And Smoking Loon Cabernet for when we've had enough of delicate urps.

Every Christmas we make Brandy Alexanders, with fresh nutmeg grated on top. I can't wait!

Lori, here's what I think will keep your DD out of dumb boy trouble. Make sure she has older men that she looks up to, guys that have their stuff together and are a class act. Having crushes on those types of out-of-reach men will keep her from falling for low class peers.

At least that worked for me.
