Interesting....

Cardboard brownies taste deliciously like chocolate. I'll bet cardboard wine tastes deliciously like wine.

Beaner, I hope you get home safely from your cocky rendevous. I hope you don't swap cocks. The goal is downsizing, Sweetie. You want to have less cock than you do now.

Lol. Lori, you would be so PROUD. I brought them 11 extra roosters. And they gave me CHOCOLATE in thanks.

It was amazing.

*tears up*

Now I have 12 hens listed for sale......going to sell 10-20 of my bantam hens and a few big hens. Should help me hit that magic number (50).

Good for you!!

Nothing like bone-chilling cold to stiffen the resolve of a chicken hoarder....

And now you have chocolate, too. That's some excellent positive reinforcement!!! Like Pavlov's dogs, you'll now start drooling when someone wants your... birds.

LOL. If I can keep getting chocolate for extra roosters, I might be set for life. Cut my rooster population in HALF in one fell swoop. I have a couple pairs up for sale, a quad and a bunch of hens. I need to just do a FIRESALE and get rid of of tons......I can't wait to have fewer birds. Very exciting idea. The coop already looked empty, just with the big boys gone. 2 were from the rooster pen (only 2 left there now), 1 from a tractor (only 1 hen left in there now) and the other 8 were from the main coop. Definitely left some "holes" in the roosting areas in the coop. Now if only I could sell another 20 hens and 3 roosters. I would have less than 50 adult birds. OMG, what would I do.

Note to all: The 26 babies don't count! LOL

I can't respond to everything I read since I still have to go out and do chores, but you all are quite amusing and entertaining. I needed that after an 11 year old boy's birthday party tonight.

I agree...me too, except for the 11 year old birthday thing.

Hi friends! I missed you guys. DH's wonderful daughter arrived Friday afternoon and just left this morning. We had a great time. It's our first Christmas since her sister (DH's other daughter) passed away, so it was a little subdued. She got me some nice smelly stuff from Bath & Body Works. I stink purty now!

Lori, I was thinking of you because I read in the paper about Compassionate Friends and the candlelighting. I didn't make a note of the day though and didn't plan for it for Pete and Allison...

Okay, now that most of the nation is under piles of snow while we just have a little rain & wind, I will sign off and look forward to seeing you guys tomorrow afternoon.

Lori, you have my addy for the fab card you're going to send me, right?

yes Buffy, your card is on the way. As are all the other OW people who sent me addy's.
Nothing personal is written on ANY cards this year. DH was in a big hurry to get them mailed, and pre-stuffed and taped the envelopes shut before we addressed them. But it's all done and they went in the mail yesterday

The candlelighting is tonight at 7pm. There was one at the cemetary yesterday too, but for EVERYONE. There were luminaries all over the graveyard and around all the little tombs. I put a luminary in front of K's spot, and a small lantern on top of the niche space with a tealight inside it.
I wanted to light a candle at the cemetary tonight, but knew the weather wouldn't let me. Sure enough, there is snow falling heavily now and the roads are turning white. That may not be a big deal in places where snow is a routine thing, but around here everyone freaks out. I can drive in snow and ice; It's the other guys that scare me.
So I'll light 17 candles in the house tonight. I was going to light more than that, but decided to be reasonable. Next year I'll do 18....

B&B makes some nice smelly stuff. I did Avon smelly stuff for all the familial hard-to-buy-for peeps this year.

I have a turkey in the oven, but no friends were able to come eat with us. So DH, DD and I will have turkey, potatoes, sweet potatoes, asparagus and dinner rolls for dinner. We'll wash it down with ginger ale. I have a warm fire in the fireplace, and most all the presents wrapped or at least prepped. Next week should be easy

Meals will be easy: LEFTOVER TURKEY!!!!

I did get that job. I start tomorrow at 9 AM.

Sorry to hear that Laree....er...uh...I mean Congrats!
