Sounds like we're having blizzard-like conditions and bitter cold for NYE. Thinking we'll stay home and I'll cook something delicious. The question is, what?

Cheesecake and cookies sounds good to me. I am going to plan on an ever so exciting evening of FINALLY cleaning out the kitchen cupboards and cooking up leftovers for the chickens. Such a rebel.

Hello Orchid! I think you should cook something fried, anything...like mac-n-chz fried?

Wow you guys are definitely my "peeps"

ah yeah NYE we even have my 14yo step-daughter spending the night to watch the kids and I have a feeling I'll be staying home w/the fam

I can eat, drink and hang-out w/people I actually like...for free!

I'm flying solo today here @ work...this would explain why I have been on this website for over 2.5hrs...oops!

My boyfriend went back up to Ohio yesterday, so I will be "all alone". If by alone, you mean just me, 2 cats, 4 dogs, 2 bunnies and 8 million chickens. At least the chickens will be outside in their "house".

Miss Lucy the new kitty was so cute last night. She is going back to the shelter today to get re-microchipped. Hope I don't traumatize her by the return trip. Good thing I only live 1.6 miles from the shelter!

I bet my oldest DS would love fried mac-n-cheese.

I was thinking maybe some bacon wrapped chicken breasts...which would probably go well with fried m-n-c!

You should make some of those little bite things from Laree's blog post......the crescent roll plus ham plus cheese. NYE is perfect for finger foods as you play games and things.

Hi August, we always welcome fellow-slackers.

My new year's evening will be spent having a late Christmas - my dad and sister are visiting from New York, and we'll be opening presents then. Neither of them drink alcohol (religious conviction), so my evening will not be rockin'. Maybe I can buzz over the Nells and drink and play with remicrochipped Lucy.

I'm at the law office all day today, as my regular Wed. office real estate appraiser boss is in sunny Puerto Rico for vacation.

Good idea. I was going to make them new year's morning but I seem to have an abundance of eggs right now, so thinking an egg bake is in order that morning.

I love menu planning when other people do it for me.

ha. I am trying to think of a way to make them that does not involve ham. I hate ham. There is a $55 honey baked ham just sitting at my sisters house. Blech.

What else would be good on there? I wonder if you could make breakfast versions. Where you add (already cooked) scrambled eggs and then cheese.....to make your own breakfast croissant.....
