Good Morning Y'all,

It's a beautiful day here in CT. No humidity at all yeah!! I'm so excited I get to get out of the office at 12:30 to go sell eggs at the local farmers market

. I'm also waiting for my baby chicks to arrive from my pet chicken. I just called USPS they aren't there yet

. I was thinking b/c they are right here in CT I would have them within a day! Guess not.

How is everyone else doing today?

Beth

I have successfully addicted a new peep to the magic of d'Uccles. Better yet, her DH is addicted and mentioned having chicks in the future. I feel a deep swell of contentment within my heart.

Its Tuesday, Monday is behind us. 40% chance of rain for the next 3 days. If I'd watered the garden yesterday evening, we might've gotten rained on last night. We only get rain when I water outside...

Hey Beth! Yes, it's gorgeous on the Cape too. I rode my bike to work. Lucky you to get new chicks! Hope the delivery goes well and that all are peeping and pooping happily!

WEgot, this is your week of contentment, that's for sure. Yay for your wonderful daughter too!

But you are a d'Uccles pusher.

I am not addicted to quack, that's for sure.

But Batty may be right when she says d'Uccles have the same hypnotic capabilites as Silkies. I dearly love my little featherfeet!! I stayed outside for 2 hours yesterday wandering around the pens dispersing treats and staring at each bird.
I'm going to sell my PQ goldneck trio so that I have more grow-out room for my teen birds. I can't pick the SQ birds out of the teen pen until September but since there's 18 birds in there I need to split them all up. Especially since I have 6 black d'Uccle chicks and about 40 eggs being incubated by either broody or bator (why do they want to be broody in the summer? I mean really? Isn't it hot enough out there??).

I'm glad DD had a good first day of band camp. But she worried me this morning, taking a book to read and not wanting to practice her music. We had a 'talk' before I booted her out of the car...
I made her the tortilla/lunchmeat pinwheels for lunch. I know they will be delicious because I ate the scraps/ends for my own breakfast! With an apple and a bag of sunchips it will be a fairly nutritious lunch.

I swear I have that same problem with my Garden too!! It's annoying eh? I need to learn more about these d'Uccles. I recently bought Silkies and really like them. Are the d'Uccles small like a banty or like a small chicken? I guess I could go check the breed button (dah me) brb.

Hello, I envy you with the biking to work! I biked to work several times last year but, this year with the Farm Markets I am exhausted and if not that I've always got something going on right after work... Poor me I know....

d'Uccles only come in bantam, and are a little bigger than a Serama. Look at my BYC page; I have some d'Uccle pics on there. They are eye-candy birds and mine are more affectionate than my Silkies & Showgirls.

For me, watering the garden brings rain more consistently than washing my car. Poor car...

Hi, I just looked at them very nice! I need a few broodies so maybe next time around when I go to get more chicks I will look into this breed. I like the ones on the breed page that are blue/lav looking.

I want to try that - today I just brought leftover chicken and some cherries.

Crossing fingers for a good day at camp for her.
