A yankee driving a new car with New York plates is just begging for a ticket around here. Doesn't help that she has a lead foot (a very heavy lead foot.)

Anyone else see the springer mountain farm chicken commercial? We have it here in CT and this guy is soo annoying to listen to... I'd much rather see a funny Geico commercial. Did I spell that right? TOo early not enough coffee.

Fridays are usually SOOO SLOOOOW around here. Sometimes it is just me rattling around.

It FINALLLY rained at my house yesterday....while I was at work, so I missed it. I learned 9 out of 10 roosters are too stupid to come in out of the rain. One or two of my "to be eaten" roos looked really bedraggled. Poor fellas. I hope they dont get chilled...which sounds silly, because it is still 100 degrees outside.

My new tortoise almost croaked too. Desert animals: NOT equipped to deal with water. She fell in the one hole on my ENTIRE property, which was 1/2 under the porch overhang. It was a tortoise death trap. Anyway, after I spent 25 mintutes looking for her, the DH found her and pulled her out. He set up a makeshift pen, I made her two dens, and tossed out some extra treats. She sniffed at me and practically RAN into the den.

Dacs, you had me laughin'! The Chapstick - wise man. But you still better scrub up extra good to get rid of the moss growing on your knuckles [which you've been dragging no doubt due to being a unattended man for two months]. Poor Mrs. Dacs. I can't imagine the work she's got ahead of her.

And BTW Dacs, I did NOT NOT NOT make up those latin names. Do a Google Image search on "buff cheeked", and you will find a pleasing array of pretty birds, but I didn't want to make it easy on you so I used their Latin names instead just to annoy you.

Had training off-site this morning. Funniest site I've witnessed lately was a native East Tennessean giving an alpha-numeric code to a guy from Belgium. HYSTERICAL!! "AH-ee? What is this AH-ee?" (I) "AH-aye? Is that I again?" "No that one was Ah-aye!!" (A)

Had a very very bad dental experience yesterday, despite flossing and cleaning the Baby-Ruth out of my teeth.
They tried to removed the temp crown without shooting my full of numbness. I about came unglued. Nobody got bitten, and I didn't exectly scream, but it wasn't pretty and the dental assistant was afraid of me from that point on. Then, despite being numb, my hyper-sensitive tooth was still reactionary. Try scraping cement off the tooth of someone flinching and cringing. Yeah. And some of the cement was below the gumline. I took meds all night last night, after drinking some soup around 8pm. My tooth still aches. I'll be packing salt around it this evening.

On the positive side, I made DH water the garden beds and so we had rain last night!

Silly man was going to argue about doing the watering, but I gave him a Look. Not the deadly one, but the one that says, "I feel like crap and will remember your lack of support for an eternity." He gave a big man-sigh and watered my garden beds AND the baby trees.
