Broodies are nice if you want them. I am tired of them. Please hens, please stop sitting. A silkie started up yesterday. She has a whopping 1 egg. I don't even think its fertile, to be honest. I will have to check and swap it out if not. I have no luck "breaking" broodies. The only way I can break them is just to let them hatch the darn things out already.....so, barred cochin on a bunch of eggs, blue cochin on 2 eggs, silkie on 1 egg. Australorp hen gave up her nest finally, half blind hen and cochin hen are done raising their babies, partridge cochin is done raising her babies, white leghorn/giant hen is still raising her baby but her coparenting sister has finished the job and ran off to be normal.

Help.

RIR, White Leghorn, Australorp, Leghorn/Giant, RIR/Giant, Welsummer, Olive Eggers, 1 clean legged wheaten marans, Andalusian (splash)......

That might be it. Or it might not be. i have so many birds I'm not even sure. Sigh..........where is my spreadsheet?

I'm all for supporting the theory that "My pet makes me breakfast" but I don't remember seeing a single one of them preparing my eggs over easy with toast, lightly buttered and just a thin spread of grape jelly.

Back to the dentist today. Horrible jaw pain has persisted......been 2 weeks now! I have jaw problems anyways, but this is ridiculous. I think she will refer me to an oral surgeon.....maybe she will give me good drugs.
