Office Work.......

school only calls me when the kids are fine. I never hear from them when something is really wrong. But that is because of how the kids answer the nurses questions...

At home, when the kids are screaming, it's not a big deal - a bump or a bruise.

When I hear a quiet "uh, Mom, you may wanna come look at this..." That's when I hurdle furniture cause there's blood and carnage.

I had to train Tom on "the code": Screaming means they can get enough air in to expel it really loudly.

In the Forest Service we have these things called JHAs or Job Hazard Analysis. Paper cuts are covered in the Office Work JHA. You are supposed to take proper precautions. You will most likely have to pay back all hospital bills and you are not entitled to workmen's comp. Sorry.

That's exactly how it is at my house. And if someone is hiding a limb behind their back, you better get them in the car and turn on the emergency flashers RIGHT NOW!

when i was young I broke both arms falling off the swings at school. I went to the office (where my mom worked) and said "my arms hurt" and I had a single tear running down my cheek (all of you together now, awwwwww). My mom knew that meant business so off we went to doctor where I found out I had 1 break on my right arm and 3 breaks in my left. Way to go Young NellaBean. You win at life. Do not pass go, Do not collect $200. Get back to work.

Tell me if I'm wrong - but usually a broken collarbone is just a hairline thing anyway, and it's usually just left to mend itself over time? (Unless of course your collarbone has been broken by a derailed freight train that's crashed into your schoolroom...)

I think you can still sue the school. And your mom. And the manufacturer of the swingset. And your child psychiatrist who told you never to cry in public.

I think a fly flew past me when I was on the swings too. I'm sueing the fly. and their family. Actually, I'm sueing all flies. Class action flysuit. Pretty sure they caused a breeze which caused me to decide to let go of the chains and see what happens. Yep, all the fly's fault. And then the fly didn't stop to see if I was okay after I crashed into the ground. How dare it? Excuse me I need to go start a thread about how worthless flies are.
