I love scarf weather. however........it is hot here today. Or rather, not hot. not cold. Just perfectly mild. Definitely not scarf weather yet. I need to take my nice big white winter coat in to get dry cleaned before the weather gets crazy. I say that every year.......every year, i fail.
Tomorrow starts 10 days of catsitting for my sister while she and the fam go on vacation. I have to go over there once a day, every day for the next 10 days. That. Will suck.

My office was 60 when I got here this morning. It's now up to 70 and the scarf is feeling a tad itchy.
DD was rescued from me embarrassing her; the GURPs group decided not cancel afterschool games in favor of a looooong game tomorrow since there's no school. DD is arranging a ride, since my place of work doesn't consider it a holiday. I reminded her that she is only allowed to make such arrangements because I've met the kids and her grades are so good. She said, "So if my grades fall, I'm screwed?"
I said, "No, if your grades fall I will keep you home more often so that you can regain your focus and determination."
She said, "Yeah. That's what I just said."

Wonder what Belle's doing today.
I. Will. Feel. Your. Pain. One of my bosses and her hubby go to Puerto Rico for over a week every winter. And I get to watch her chickadee&vole-killing rotten cat. I used to have compassion for the dumb thing, but then I saw her with the dead chickadee this summer and that was that.
That cat can stay in the garage for eons! No more Auntie Laurie trying to play with her and make her feel better for being alone.

Alright Boyd, can you please come over and teach my neighbor some manners? If possession is 9/10th of the law, I am now 9/10 the owner of a large equipment trailer parked in the front side of my yard. Yay me. Also, yay for neighbors who don't know how to ask permission before using your lawn as a parking lot. Crazy rednecks.
I got home and called my neighbor across the road and asked him if he knew who parked their trailer in my front yard. He said he was wondering the same thing! Then his wife chimed in that the other neighbor next door to me was having a big tree cut down and that is the trailer some of the equipment came on. How nice of them to park it in *my* yard.
Grrrr. I'd smack him upside the head if I wasn't afraid of knocking his remaining tooth out. Yep. Tooth.

She was in a corner, head down, neck feathers all roughed up, tail to the side, wings drooping, dead as a doornail with her eyes closed and her beak open.

Ugh, sorry Lori, that sucks. I lost a hen in a similar fashion last weekend. Found one of my original cochin hens out in the middle of the yard. Head down and neck feathers all fluffed up like she was being mounted. I suspect she had her neck broken.......my guess on mine, since she free ranges with all the other hens and about 10-15 roosters, is that my duck drake got her. He has started harassing the hens a bit and i caught him hanging off another hen's neck the next day.
I think Mr Goldneck needs to live alone with conjugal visits only.
