Dacs, we had most of the deer made into burger at a butcher who doesn't make jerky, so he sent us back these big hunks of haunch to make into jerky. I'm hoping he cut off at least some of that silver tissue, I hate trimming that stuff off. I am thinking it might be worth the pain and agony in order to have the flavor from drying it in the smoker.

Belle, we're having 12 adults and three children. Four of those adults can eat more pie than seems physically possible.

Alright, last workday before the holiday weekend. They used to let us all leave early on these days....sometimes close to noon. Not anymore.....its a ghost town here as other departments are leaving early or just taking the whole day off. Rumor has it that our receptionist will be getting to leave early at 4pm. My guess is that they will expect US to stay and also answer the phones as well. I'm getting more hateful by the minute. We are TOO BUSY to leave early. Also we are TOO BUSY because they let people go during the "bad times" and have been dragging their feet hiring people now that it is crazy busy. So we're all doing 3 people's work and pretty much losing some business just because we can't et back to our customers quick enough. It's kind of like "thank you for requesting a quote, we should have it worked up and back to you in 2-3 days when we get to that part of 'the pile'. Oh, you say the job is bidding in 2 hours? Sucks to be you, I guess".

I like when its a one line quote and the customer says that..........ITS JUST A 1 LINE QUOTE. That's nice, but there are 23 others in line ahead of it. GET IN LINE.

I am disgruntled. Someone give me some pie.

Being wet in a hot tub would be better. I'm hurtin' after a day of putting heavy things in boxes then toting boxes up stairs. 6.5 hours with no break. And silly me worked out this morning...

Our jobs would be so much more rewarding if it weren't for assinine customers and clients (of which they ALL are...). Uh oh, am I going to be banned? I said a word close to "moronic", and that usually sends of red flashing lights in Nifty's living room...

Anybody want to come over for Minnesota Wild Rice Soup and Cilantro Shrimp cocktail? I got it ready. And the candles are lit.

Just me and the DH tomorrow.

I know you all will have a lovely day (not without some stressful moments I'm sure), and I look forward to seeing you again on Monday afternoon or sooner if I'm lucky!

We have so much to be thankful for, even more than we realize. Blessings on those who don't.

Oddly enough, I'll pass on the wild rice soup. Never developed much of a taste for it, although DH really likes it. But I'd love some Cilantro Shrimp cocktail!

Have a safe, happy and fun Thanksgiving, everyone!

*warning, sappiness ahead*

I am thankful for the new friends I've made here on BYC this year. One can never have too many friends...they're just like great shoes.

What if you call it Maggot Soup? That's what it looks like. Maybe you could ignore the wild rice part and just imagine they are nice plump juicy floating maggots... (oh wait, you're not a chicken..)

Oh Orchy, I was sappy yesterday, so you can be sappy too. Just this once though!

Right now, DH is painting our little hallway downstairs while watching/listening to the Patriots game. Soon we get to settle down and sink into the whole luscious food thing.

This morning we took a long walk in Truro, the next town up from us. We did the Bearberry Hill trail then walked along the Atlantic. Very nice.

Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving!

Today DH and I have been married for 5 years. I'm amazed, as there were times I thought we'd never make 2...
He's still rough around the edges, but I have a really strong file.

Today he's out taking care of his dad for a while as I hang out. We have adinner reservation for 7pm.
Since DD is visiting her dad's family, I took time to make her monster dice bag. It's not perfect but I like it.

I'll post a pic of my little monster bag in a minute...

The white is a towel I put inside the bag.

This one is with the drawstring closed.

It's not perfect, the wings are too big and the feet are pigeon-toed, but I think it's cute.

Um, dearest, it's a monster. It's not supposed to be perfect.

It is perfectly adorable, though!

*secretly wondering - "What does one do with a dice bag?" *

And, Happy Anniversary!
