First thing I noticed, too. Hmmmmm.....

Yes, and we were over 10000 posts.

But it's still here!!!

And that means I was probably correct in my thoughts that they like us here and want us to keep playing where they can keep an eye on us

Good luck popping the puppy, Belle. Hope it all goes as smoothly and dreamily as you planned, with room service and showers of love and adoration.

I will let you all kow when I get a text from Belle.

Thanks for the breeding breakdown, I feel so much smarter now. I want Lavs too, but it is ridiculously hard to get good stock up here. I many have to bite the bullet and order some of those really expensive eggs...

I wonder if I can do as many pushups as Buff? How many did Dacs eek out?

Try the pushups. Get a baseline number, then spend a few weeks doing upper body workouts. Then do the pushup test again and see how many you've added.

Dacs cranked out 30 as his baseline, then was so full of himself that he never did another one. Those MEN!

I am NOT an expert. But I've been studying up on it because improving my lavender d'Uccles is the reason I have a bunch of splits in my coop right now.
I'm going to order some eggs from someone with a lovely lavender roo. SHhhhh, don't tell DH, though....
If none hatch, then I will pair splits with splits and keep only lav babes.

I've been reading a lot about spiral breeding, and it's a really cool idea. You could have a closed flock for 100 years, without inbreeding, by using spiral breeding. It would be best-suited for someone breeding only one variety of bird, though, since you need 4 pens for maximum results. Batty's would be a little more closely related as starters than is optimum, but I would think she'd get enough diversity, long-term, that it should work fine. Especially if she came across a primo roo from another line along the way.

As I freeze to death in my office, doing manually laborious tasks that I hate, I am seriously thinking it's time to consider going back to school for teaching certification. But not as an English teacher. I'd really rather be a science teacher. I'm going to order the practice Praxis for science and do some reading this winter.

I will not be doing any more push-ups.
How many crunches do you do, Buffy? Do you do the kind where your feet stay on the floor, or where you bring your knees up and try to touch your nose with them?

Lori, I bet that being cold all day long really does a number on your sore wrists. My fingers are frozen now, but the rest of me is okay.

Crunches - I do about ten different kinds of crunches in a session, and I don't count them. If I did just one kind of crunch and counted, well, I can't count up that high and I'd be bored to death. So would my abs. They like to have their various sections tortured in different ways.

Got the tractor put back together. I hope I have everything adjusted right or I might have problems with steering and the steering parts wearing out.

Put two new wheels on the little red wagon. I was crushed when I got done. I realized our little red wagon was not a Radio Flyer.

Ate some venison neck roast for lunch. Pretty tastey. Going to have it for tacos tonight.

All the posts that mentioned 'splort'? That would account for close to 3 grand....
