Office Work.......

Orchy, my NonPepNonKu cookies were FABULOUS! My hubby loved them. I swooped aside five of them to send to my Dad in NY today.

Instead of chopped up almonds, I had almond "flour" in the freezer and used that. It may have changed what the texture of the real cookie is supposed to be, but it's quite fine. Next time I make them I'll do it the traditional way since I used up the almond flour making them.

Thank you Orchs for posting the recipe.

I am actually at work. Just spent a half hour printing out what I did yesterday....

Have 8 million things on my to do list.....and have to go to a meeting during lunch. Today is going to be stupid.

Just to show you what a good friend I am, why don't you assign me some of the things on your list? I'll take the coffee breaks, the eating from the M&M bowl and lunch at Taco Sams.

Nells, you'd be interested to hear that my vet won't sell me any more of their fancy cat food unless I bring the boys in for a checkup. It's been three years, but they are strictly indoor, are not exposed to any other animal (if you don't count my DH), and don't need vaccinations. Guess who has to traumatize the boys tomorrow at 1:00 by stuffing them into carriers and hauling their butts to an office rank with germs from other animals?

I find that so annoying. Vets these days are getting greedier and greedier.....Can they really tell the cats digestion by looking at it?

My seizure cat has to get bloodwork done twice a year. Which is ridiculous. Because he is on the highest dose of those meds he can be on. So why are we testing his levels? We can't go down in dosage because he has seizures. We can't go up in dose because they are controlled well on his current dose...and it is the highest he can go. So, regardless of what the test results are......he will stay on the same dosage.

So annoying.

Its more like, bring him in so we can waste $100 of your money for no real reason.

Have you ever discussed your line of logic with the vet? Makes sense to me.

A person I know who does pit bull rescue says that she heard that more vets are getting into vet dentistry these days because it is so lucrative. "So lucrative". It brought to mind the BYC thread a few weeks ago where people were going broke having their pet's teeth cared for. It ain't right.

My Fluppy dog is due for a checkup in the next month or so and I am going to refuse vaccinations for her this year. She's 15, she's got some tumors and a bad heart murmur, and she's been vaccinated for at least the last 12 years that we've had her - I don't think she needs any more vaccines, except rabies if she's due for that.

Buffy, I'm so glad you and your DH liked the cookies!

Almond flour sounds like an interesting and delicious variation.

Yes, I did. She said that they HAVE TO, because if its too high they will have to lower it. Etc, etc etc. It's all a load of poop if you ask me.

Logic has no place in pet care apparently.

That thread about pet dentistry was ridiculous. There were people actually saying that if you had the dentistry done inexpensively, then it wasn't as good. Um...say what?

I also liked the thread where they said that if your vet was inexpensive, it was because they had ILLEGAL people working there. Say what again?

I was quoted about $400 to get my cat's single broken tooth removed. That does not include bloodwork. Which is required. So about $500.

My little dog had rotten teeth so I found a new vet to do the dental. It was $70 for the dental, no additional charge for extractions. $40 for the bloodwork which wasn't required but recommended. So $110 for 12 extractions, full dental and bloodwork. They also trimmed her nails and cleaned her ears for free while she was under.

Guess what, SHE HASNT DIED YET. Apparently the ILLEGALS working at that vet did a good job. LOL.
