Spent the day with my niece over my house....I "watched" her while my parents working on repairing the threshold of the kitchen door. Sigh.

She absolutely LOVED Toby the old dog.

She liked Bella the poodle too. She found Bella's christmas sweater and wanted Bella to wear it.

Did you know that children carrying around a bag of pretzels are quite popular with animals? LOL

My niece decided the new kitty should be named Lucy. So she is!

They are new buddies.

Lucy is very tolerant.

They even watched the chickens out the window together.

I tell ya, all this cat has done today is sleep. She is very quiet. Just wants to lay in her bed and sleep. No interest in playing at all. Eat, sleep.....rinse and repeat.

She is my own personal Christmas Gift.

awwwwwww! Lucy in the sky with diamonds...Lucy needs her sleep...she's been traumatized, first she gets stuck in a shelter, then she gets her guts tied, and then she travels an hour to a place with an evil kitty, munchy treat dog, munchkin dog, some kind of slobbery tot...she's decided resistance is futile...give her a bed and she'll nap.


I haven't eaten any funny mushrooms since college. Isn't there a saying about wasting a terrible mind or was that a mind is a terrible thing to waste?

Is Orchy one of Santa's reindeer? She's dashing. She must be light on her feet...or are they hooves?

She is doing good tonight. Norman the evil cat is still hateful.......but he isn't I WANT TO KILL YOU hateful. He is more like WHY ARE YOU IN MY DOMAIN!? hateful. Norman is now getting corrected for being "hateful" and they were within 5 feet of each other and not causing death or major injuries tonight while getting some cat treats. I think it will be okay eventually.

She sure acts like the one ear bothers her, so hopefully it is just an ear issue. The vet did mention some other issues, including vestibular disease, but did not think that was her problem. He pretty much narrowed it down to ear problem or previous head trauma. So either the ear treatment will solve the problem....or it won't. She will have a permanent home here either way. An indoor only cat can walk crooked all she wants!

Whats interesting is that she is obviously used to other cats, dogs and kids. Wonder where she's been all these years. She is not terribly bothered by the dogs....although she will swat them if they get "annoying". But otherwise, they can walk right past her and she just ignores them. You would expect most cats to arch their back, hiss/spit/etc and get really defensive. She is not terribly concerned. The swat earlier was deserved as my old dog's nose was a little PUSHY. She was very good with my very FRIENDLY niece. Just a very quiet and happy kitty. Very reserved but always has a purr ready.

This is for Dacs.

We had a couple over for nibbles & drinks last night who live in Park City, Utah and have a vacation house here on the Cape. They brought us a box of English toffee from Garden Gate in Salt Lake City.

Dacs needs to send me the papers necessary to convert. I won't even have to read 'em. I'll just sign wherever he says.

I've already started the process by consuming vast quantities of sugar. After having a piece of that toffee to start the day, I proceeded to ignore the two pears I brought to work and ate a donut instead. Dacs would be so proud... [sniff]

Busy day today. Tom only works a half day so I have to get everything done early to surprise him.

No new pets for us but Lucy is adorable. I like her ability to flop, flop and sleep, she is a role model for females everywhere. The tot was pretty cute too

I love Buffy most of all, even tho she hasn't chimed in on the wedding dress choices on my Facebook page.

Funny how she chased away her relatives to make room for you all but won't even bother coming to MY page and see the leopard print discussion. I'm beginning to think I'm not the center of her universe anymore <sniff>
