LOL! mine knows better. Plus I'm picking up a Tolbunt polish roo tomorrow and the gal is talking about adding some GL gals in for him. I have been on the hunt for GL eggs as well. I love spring!!!

Ok, sure it aint spring yet, but I am preparing.......gonna fire up the incubator later.

Well, the eggs didn't hatch that my girl was sitting on, which means the rooster that came over that day did not breed her.

This is the hen that setting on eggs in the rafters of the stall.

Darn it.

Another rooster showed up yesterday but DH chased it away. There's a flock of them nearby, feral chickens. Feral chickens are all over the place around here.

Bummer, but this is a bad time of year for a hen to set. Too much chance they'll freeze when she's off them.

Well, she laid eggs for a few days after that, but she is young and had just started laying. I was hoping, but she is a chicken that I caught at my son's house, and then a feral rooster, so its better that they didn't hatch, I can't even catch her and pen her up. And babies do not freeze around here. Not as long as they have a mama.

Pullet eggs rarely hatch. And I did see that your were in CA, but I've heard CA is having soe wickedly unusual weather lately.

yeah they are space cadets but so very pretty and jeff likes them so to keep him interested...and by interested I mean keep him from complaining.....must involve him some how. And I refuse to have turkens again.
