Maybe because it had never been submitted in writing....but that is besides the point. The teacher SHOULD HAVE KNOWN, since the parent brought in a menorah 3 months ago.
My 6 y/o wore reindeer antlers for about a month for Christmas. Doesn't mean I'm not letting her eat hamburger for Lent.
You know, separation of church and state is or should be standard operating procedure.
On an mildly related fact, DH let 6 y/o wear a tutu to school today. Which is also why she wore antlers for a month. Maybe I need to go into work later so I can get the kids dressed in the morning. DH has no will power to tell DDs no, and is big on not picking a fight he knows he'll lose.
Then again, I don't really care what they wear as long as they are covered enough for the weather and school rules.
Pretty sure my almost 3 year old niece would be able to remember to tell someone "NO, I"m not allowed to eat ham" HAD SHE BEEN TAUGHT TO DO SO. Just another way that society wants to place the blame for all their wrong doings on everyone else. Personal responsibility. FIND SOME.
