We are steering clear of each other, no rancor, just no chatting.

Chelle!

If she's 15 then she's old enough now to choose if she wants to visit any more and for how long.

My 15-year old DD is overweight and knows it. Her paternal grandmother buys her crap food and encourages her to overeat and lay around, but trash talks about being in counseling, dyed hair, piercings and tattoos (things the other granddaughters have, DD only has the dyed hair part).

My own mother apparently cracks 'fat jokes' when I'm not around. And she can offer up a 'compliment' that has so many barbs you wonder why you even talk to her any longer.

I talked to DD about how some older woman get grumpy and think they're being 'open & honest' but come across as spiteful and bitter. And I let her limit the time she spends in their company. She still sees them, just not for long periods of time.

My DD would love to have the figure that your DD does. But mine prefers to sit on the sofa and watch TV rather than watch it as she walks on the elliptical. ( am mean, and insist on a mile a day.)

Lori, good job on keeping your orchid alive. Mine is really pretty easy, I just care for it like I do my other houseplants...forget to water it for at least a week at a time and pick it up whenever the cats knock it over.

If the PO calls to tell me they have a box for me that's crowing, I'll know who it's from!

I've been feeding my orchid ice cubes every other day. I know my house is really dry. I'm thinking about making it some tea-flavored ice cubes to give it some additional nutrients.

Y'know, I am getting my NPIP certification soon. You really COULD get a box that crowed

I could send some as guinea pigs to test my mad shipping skillz.

Toxic person. You are so smart to let your DD set the limits on visiting with her.

No, Michelle's DD is not fat. Why do grandmothers have to be so spiteful and mean? I mean, were they perfect when they were a teen???

Yes. But only because they can't remember back that far. The person they remember was perfect. Absolutely perfect in every way.

Odd, my grandmother is the same way. You never know what rude thing will fall out of her mouth next. Fortunately for me, I just laugh at her. And she doesn't even know it.
