I just realized I forgot one detail in this contest. I need to change my guess pronto. Give up the 3401 & choose:

3400.

I got a funny feeling she did this by weight. However, it's a little more likely she did this by counting from "X # of bags" but, the mystery will have to wait till it done to know exactly how she counted all these little chocolate treats.

I’ve done this a thousand times with jelly beans. The trick is to count in piles of ten (plus the few extra.)

When I worked for the G&F, we counted thousands of eggs and fish by weight.
