Benninger Hatchery: silkie+Serama hatch along!

Hi! This is new for me, I normally post about random things like my chickens being weird . I'm doing what will probably be my 9th and final hatch of the year. It will be a batch of silkies and one serama. Only seven eggs in total, which is fairly small compared to my normal batches of about 18-50 depending on the incubator. It might be a bit chaotic, but hopefully I can keep you guys updated every other day or so.

So without further ado... let's hatch out some butt nuggets!!!


Egg #1: Serama
Egg #2: silkie
Egg #3: silkie
Egg #4: silkie
Egg #5: silkie
Egg #6: silkie
Egg #7: silkie


Hopefully we get a few breeder worthy Silkies this batch! I switched out my previous rooster so we'll see what happens!

Update: I'm adding in another silkie egg into the incubator! That should make the count up to eight(I believe, it's still too early in the morning for me to function)

Sorry if this thread doesn't have a lot of updates I'm trying to keep it interesting lol. I plan on doing several hatches on this thread. I wanted to add pictures of the parents of the eggs, so hopefully we get some new colors!


Mom:

I believe you call this color mauve? At this point I'm unsure . Everyone keeps saying different colors.

Dad:

The dad of the eggs currently in the incubator is the calico colored one. This is a younger picture of him.

I'm not sure what colors we might get from them.(Any ideas/guesses are always welcome!)

For the single serama egg

Mom:

She has thrown several different colors with the same rooster. Such as white, splash, black, brown, and more... It's honestly just a guessing game

Dad:

He always produces high quality chicks, so hopefully he does for this batch as well
