Ended Official 2022 BYC Other Fowl Molt Contest

Still waiting on my pied Muscovy to do her thing, but my white Muscovy is currently looking pretty silly! I would have taken more pictures, but we had an attempted hawk attack right after this was taken (no one was hurt, but they are all locked back up)! I will try to get more pictures later.

So glad your girls are safe. I've lost a few muscovy to hawks.

Thank you! I’m sorry for your losses. The hawk flew right over my head from behind me and started to swoop down on the ducks, but I was luckily only 10 feet away at most and we were all right by the “duckio”. The ducks let out a collective utterly surprised and panicked “QUACK!” or, in the case of the Muscovies a “SQUEAK!”, as they dove against the side of the fencing and I waved my arms. The hawk pulled up and circled, giving me enough time to get everyone back in the “duckio”.

As far as the additional photos, I didn’t get any this afternoon as it was raining. Also, my dear white Muscovy bathed away most of her loose feathers during the day and now looks halfway decent again. Stay tuned for my pied Muscovy!
