Ditto!Mine does too!
I bet that feels so picky.
It's not like thorn sticking prickly, but yeah kinda weird, like if you just touch the end it reminds me of when my little cousin got a spike hairdoo & he was learning to use hair gel. It is so sensitive, when the feathers are too new to flake off the keratin coating yet, the birds will avoid being preened by other pigeons & avoid me petting them.I bet that feels so picky.
Wow! Do you do anything with the feathers? So I swept yesterday, as I do daily. This is a spot by the feed tin that accumulates "stuff" (stuff is molting feathers & feather dust) from the "breeze" created by flapping wings. Yup, this spot was spotless yesterday. I fill a 50lb feed bag of just feathers weekly, during molt. I look around because I swear as many feathers as I collect, there just has to be somebody bald, but nope, all birds have their feathers. Go figure.

Molting is exhaustinghe's got one leg tucked in & gonna take a late morning nap.
Everyone here has pin feather heads & necks.

I hate to waste, but I can barely keep up with everything as it is. There never seems to be enough hours in the day. There's a whole process of properly sorting, cleaning & storing them, too, if one plans to make pillows with the small feathers. The larger flight and tail feathers are usually pretty beat up by the time they're molted, but if I see some perfect ones, I mail them to a place...I used to donate parrot feathers, when I ran a small rescue, but I do not have parrots anymore, I have pigeons & chickens. If anyone wants to donate molted feathers that are not beat up, check this out.Wow! Do you do anything with the feathers?
