This is Ducky with his girls. He is I think a silver Appleyard mix drake of some kind and he is 4 years old.

How incredible he is my neighbor really wants one. I think to get even for the ginnies on one side and my geese on the other. I hope he get one some day there such cool birds...

He is a true character, so much personality. Too much personality.
I love him and I hate him. My husband is his saving grace.
I am so very thankful mating season is almost over...
Your neighbor should really talk to people who own peacocks/hens that are NOT breeders. There is a big difference in yard art (mine) and the ones kept for profit.
I would never turn anyone away from owning peafowl, they just need to know the REAL life of owning them. Sometimes, it's not fun and pretty, at all.
Compassion, understanding and a very calm/cool head is a MUST!!

She is probably giving ME the stank eye. I take these photos from inside my glassed in back porch "mud room" (whatever it is). Mating season is a combat zone around here.
They are actually in their enclosure, until he can calm down a bit. I hope to allow them free roam of the property again soon.
Janis is very confident, for a younger hen. She puts JoJo in his place, often. She absolutely loves him and they are inseparable.
She is a big instigator in his antics. He reacts to her actions, usually getting himself into trouble. He don't care, he loves her too.
They are both jerks.. LoL.
No kidding. But, we love them.
