Not an entry - just wanted to share the "baby birds" I've had over the years. All of my canaries were male singers. So they were all named after famous singers or songs.

Sassy Ann. She came to me as 'Andy' but laid an egg a few months after she was given to me so I changed her name. A Sun Conure Hybrid, Sassy Ann loved her peanuts and made 'gifts' for me. She was a great weaver of string, grass, rope and liked to make bracelets for me.

Not an entry - this is my grand-bird, Pollo on my DH's shoulder. She is an Amazon Parrot. She was thought to be a boy, by her previous owner, and was named "Apollo". Years later, she laid an egg, but her name stayed. My son adopted her when her owner (my best friend's brother) passed away, a couple years ago. She is 50+ years old, and has a bad hip. I'm her occasional bird-sitter. She prefers men. I can't handle her. She has a fabulous vocabulary, and is very entertaining!

Sophie, one of two Blue and Gold Macaws we have. I got her as a baby over 20 years ago. They can live to be 80.

Can you handle them? I read that macaws bond to one person, only. Is that your experience?

I know it’s not my bird but he’s a galah or rose breasted cockatoo. I also saw one in a local pet store not long ago
