Your word processor should have a word count function somewhere in it's menus.

Your article is great and it can be even better without niggly errors.
Offer open to anyone who'd like an ex-English teacher to check over their work, not for contents, but for spelling and grammar that the autocorrect didn't get.

I'm in the process of writing a "NEWBIES point of view to keeping chickens" it will be what every newbie(like me/us) my need to know about keeping chickens . I understand that this article may not be what the contest is about. I think it may help new chicken keepers get information from another newbie.
