Coccidiosis in chickens: What is it?!

Coccidiosis in chickens: What is it?!

Coccidiosis is a disease most chicken keepers have experienced at least once, but it is a scary problem for those new to chickens. Luckily, you can do many things to help your chickens recover! What is coccidiosis? Seven strains of coccidiosis affect chickens and only a few cause bloody...

Question regarding rules 2 and 9: does this mean any attached files to the article get classified as public domain by being uploaded here, even if created by the article author? Without getting into the particular topic, there are designs/patterns I created that I was wanting to share here for anyone to use freely (personal use & anything BYC-related). If the designs themsevles have to be considered public domain though, then some time after being here it's rather likely they will pop up for sale by someone else on some other sites (it's an obnoxious problem in the particular domain unless there is an "XYZ use only" type of statement somewhere when uploading the designs).

You've got a good question. I've thought about putting a watermark or initials on one picture in particular in a new coop article I'm doing. I truly think that is the only way to safeguard a picture we have from being "stolen" or borrowed by someone. Even that doesn't mean someone still won't use it, but then you can do something about it by contacting the source where it was used.

@Nifty-Chicken could answer this better though.

Great question.

No, they are not public domain. Our terms / conditions state by posting anything to BYC, we are granted license to use the content (images, text, etc.) for purposes of BYC.

For example, someone posts a pic in a thread, and we use that pic to feature the thread on our homepage, newsletter, etc.

Posting to BYC does NOT put the content in the public domain.

Eliminating Lice (or Mites) on Chickens Using Permethrin

Introduction So your birds are losing feathers and looking scraggly, but aren’t molting. Or maybe you actually saw the pests crawling on them. Either way you’ve come to the right place. My birds had lice a few months ago and I have made this article with all the information I collected during...
