@Blooie I really enjoyed Scout's story, though I feel so sorry for the little guy! How is he doing now?I'm done! Scout has entered a new phase in his life and I've updated to reflect that.

He's doing very well, thanks for asking! He's out with the big girls - holding his own if they get too bossy, flying up on the bar that the girls use to get into their upper nests then strutting like he owns the place, and spends very little time in his brooder pen. He's even ventured out into the yard with them. He still has curly toes, but nowhere near what they were like. We have some sub-zero temps coming Christmas week, so I'll be especially vigilant with his feet, slathering them with Vaseline to protect against more frostbite. I'm sure the pine shavings will stick to it, but better than a repeat! Still don't know if Scout is a he or a she, and really don't care - no matter what he is he stays!@Blooie I really enjoyed Scout's story, though I feel so sorry for the little guy! How is he doing now?
Not yet, but you better hurry!Am I too late? I am working on an article and I hope to submit it by the end of the day, I really hope I'm not too late!![]()
