Not all my chickens molt.

This is a strange contest. Who wants "The Ugliest Chicken" award?

I have 4 chicks that are 6 months old, too, will they moult in their first year? My two older hens (4 year olds) are moulting right now, but the young ones are not.

Thank God, I don't live in a colder climate or Henrietta would be begging me to knit her a pair of pants. This picture really doesn't do her justice. She also has no feathers on her back and chest. But she's still a trooper and lays her egg a day.

My Patty looks incredibly pathetic at moulting time. For the past two years she has molted in early December and lost every single feather on her little body. I hope she doesn't do this again this year but I suspect she will and if she does, I will enter her photo.

I just noticed my EE and Dark Cornish girls weren't looking...ummm...their best shall we say. I'll have to get some pics once it gets really bad, right now they just look kinda ragged.
