Im so happy you are enjoying it! Im a pretty new chicken owner and this was my first chicken molt! I thought this was an amazing and hysterical picture too. It was my first thought too! An Indian headdress.

Morning Lhicken, I didn’t realize LB got a sunburn, do you have a hen apron to put on her to protect her skin?

I have found a pattern to follow for the apron. I will do a test run first. There are lots of options for DIY hen saddles.

I find it rather sad to see chickens with a very bad moult. I’ve never had a chicken looking as bold as the ones who win the contest.

This is my 9 year old Ini mini having a serious moult. She looks as if she is at least a few years older on this picture. She had an early moult last year too. Just as bad. Giving chick feed all summer doesn’t seem to make a difference.

My DD came to visit yesterday and asked if she was sick. Luckily not, but I can’t help it to feel a bit sorry for her.

This is Susan. She likes the leaf bag! She just started molting. She started from her buttocks and it's gone up her back!

She has a tail too tiny for her body

This is my Livorno hen, she is getting through the end of a weird looking molt! (Her head is bald from the rooster) and her tail feathers are finally coming back in.
