Yes, sorry, I had a senior moment. When you said reelfoot lake, what popped into my head was horshoe lake in IL. It is an oxbow lake.

And the part I really hate about reelfoot this time of year is my irrational or rational fear of cottonmouths!!!!!

It isn't totally irrational. I grew up in an area with lots of cottonmouths. I've never been bitten by any venomous snake in spite of having them around almost daily. On the plus side, their venom isn't extremely deadly.
