And I hear whining or puppy howls. They will actually be outside dogs but it’s supposed to storm this weekend so my husband wants them inside for now. We put them in the bathroom. He tells me how I care for my chickies is how he feels about puppies.
Aww that’s sweet. :love

Maybe the kids from the puppies?? But I thought the point is to get attached 😂
I’m confused.
Oh yeah I love honey buns. I just didn’t know the song said bunch instead of bun
Bonding is good for sure!! Just sometimes they (the puppies) can get super duper overly attached to each other if I’m making sense haha

Although it might actually be less of a problem with outside dogs and especially since you have an older dog haha I’m sure yours will be fine. :)

Makes total sense.
I have a dummy that doesn't like to be by himself outside.
It's quit annoying but had I known that I could have prevented him from being a cry baby by himself I would have tried.

Sorry, probably should have clarified. :lau

It’s not really bad, per se, and it’s definitely good for them to have a friend (I don’t think I’d ever have just one dog at once again after seeing how bonded my brothers dogs are) but it’s just sometimes when you get them at the same time they can bond super intensely with each other and less with you which can make it harder to train them or they can get super anxious when separated, etc.

Obviously not every time of course and it’s not really an issue or problem usually so I’m sure your puppies will be fine but you just basically want to try to get them used to being by themselves sometimes and learn it’s okay without freaking out. Easier while young. Not separate all the time of course but just the occasional separate training session or walk or whatever if possible just so they bond with both you and each other. :)

Ohhh okay good idea. Yeah that makes sense. Today is day one so I’ll let them adjust but will definitely train them separately and away from each other.

I’ll keep an eye on how close they are to each other. So far it seems like they’re independent from each other but we’ll see.

I wish I had asked the previous owners when they were born because they said they were 6 weeks old but already eating solid food. And I looked online that it’s best to wait til puppies are 7 weeks before separating from their mom. But I mean a week is fine, but I’m still curious.

Yeah my dog wasn’t always an outside dog so I’m curious how these puppies will be being strictly outside dogs. But we’re always outside so they’ll be fine. I want to teach them young to leave my chicks and chickens alone.

The 7 weeks old thing is relatively new. We always started separating puppies at 6 weeks old. We even had a pair of pups do well that were weaned at 4 weeks old. There was no choice in the matter as some blankety blank ran the mother over.

How old is he? Might still be possible to train him. :D is he quiet at all when he’s alone? You could try only going out there when he’s quiet, even if it’s just for a second, and rewarding him, and ignore the crying (easier said than done, I know), and eventually he should do it less and less :) though of course some of it is individual personality too and if he’s particularly bonded to you or another dog or whoever, sometimes they can separation anxiety if you leave. Gator wa slike that a little cause he loved my brother sooooo much. 😂 he also trained us to give him attention when he grumbled which eventually turned to barking 😂:th

He's ruined already.

That does seem pretty young!! But I’m sure they will be fine!! And yeah, good idea to get them used to stuff when young!!

Do they have shots? I have always heard 8 weeks but sure they’ll be fine.
