The 7 weeks old thing is relatively new. We always started separating puppies at 6 weeks old. We even had a pair of pups do well that were weaned at 4 weeks old. There was no choice in the matter as some blankety blank ran her over.

Oh okay in that case I’m a little relieved. I was just worried about placing them outside in a doghouse in a pen to ensure they don’t run all over the place every morning. But will have to wait til Monday. There’s a storm on Sunday. Bleh Which means I gotta move my brooder to my husband’s shop to keep them dry.

Do they have shots? I have always heard 8 weeks but sure they’ll be fine.

Get them dewormed too.

But I didn’t think it was really new? I thought it has been 8 for quite a while? At least that’s what I’ve always heard.

I’ve been looking it up and yeah the shots are later like around 8 weeks and others a little later.
All they’ve gotten done is dewormed by their previous owners. No shots or anything.
I read even getting them spayed will be around 6 months (which is in 4 months for us) or before their first heat cycle.

Ahhh okay. Yeah he seems like quite the mama’s boy you could try not opening the door unless he’s sitting quietly. That’s what we did with Gator. But if you don’t mind it, I’m sure it’s fine. I think I would laugh. Gator used to cry at the door when he was ready and he was ruined too LOL I tried to train him and did pretty well at first but either someone else would ruin it or I’d cave eventually actually, his last couple years I just started getting super lax haha I’m like whatever, he’s cute and mostly listens

You still need to deworm them again.

Don’t they usually have a couple puppy shots when younger and then more when older? I’m sure they’ll be okay though. And depending how big they get you might want to wait till a year old or so to fix them at least for the male but 6 months should be fine too
