This is Daphne. She is entering in the "all other breeds" category.

Welcome to BYC, DaphneandDot! And, whoa! I thought this was my chicken Lady Hawk when I first saw it, only I didn't remember even taking it. Daphne looks almost exactly like my little Easter Egger. Almost exactly! Fun.

Other Breed. This is Henny, our 2 year old Gingernut Ranger...her first Mega Molt. She is not amused.... She's also the top of the pecking order. Heaven help any other hen who gets in her way. her two tail feathers are the saddest - I think she's lost even more feathers since I took the picture this morning.

Thanks for this thread... I've been so down about my older girls loosing all their feathers and looking so pathetic... seeing everyone else's "bag lady" hens has helped.

Remember to add extra calcium to their diet especially if you are adding false light. The feathers and egg shells need calcium as well as building healthy bones I always let my ladies renew themselves when needed they are so faithful with their eggs the rest of the time.

This is my little Maple, Gold Laced Wyandotte. It was her (and my!) first moult and I was so worried that it was so bad because of something I did or didn't do! She even lost all her wing feathers. Thanks, BYC, for showing me the bare side of chicken keeping!
