Okay, I just wanted to share this for a laugh! My late pet chicken, "Buffy" (original, I know!) inexplicably liked to nest in this roasting pan. (We used to jokingly tell her she looked "delicious"...the chicken-in-a-pan jokes were pretty endless, actually)

Deviled Quail Eggs.
Regular size deviled eggs are a standard item at all of our family gatherings. My break with tradition this year was fun but it was decided that we would return to the full size version next time. Size does matter in deviled eggs!

Whole Berry Cranberry Salad
My Grandmother was considered an gourmet cook. Lots of complicated, time consuming delicious recipes. Her cranberry salad involved straining the seeds and skins off the cooked cranberries, mixing in gelatin, nuts, citrus and celery chopped in perfect pieces. It was poured into a ring mold. After sitting the the fridge overnight and a quick soak in warm water hopefully it would release in one beautiful piece on a crystal plate.

THIS IS NOT THAT RECIPE.

My stress free version of he recipe.. just as tasty and no tears! Sorry Grandma.

Pies of Thanksgiving past. I always do 3 pumpkin, a chocolate/pecan, and an apple or a peach depending on what’s in the house.

Thanksgiving is come and gone up here. But I made this today and I love it in the colder months so Imma pretend it counts

Rice, water, butter

Sugar, milk, vanilla, nutmeg, cinnamon, egg

Voila!

For our Thanksgiving meal, we'll have...

roast turkey breast
asparagus
mashed potatoes
green beans
cranberries

with freshly baked...

cinnamon raisin bread
white wheat bread

and for dessert...

pecan pie, Ranger cookies, and apple tarts!
