Whoops! I reread the rules and see it's only one entry. I'll leave the one above as my entry...lol

Same broody hen, different eggs She took a chunk out of me when I tried to check her. Ouch!

I leave eggs in the nest boxes for a day and wham...she's gone broody.
It been -12C here and...she's broody. Arrgh...enough already! Silly hen.

hmm bad hen lol!I wish i had a hen like her...lots of babies lol!

Quote: Lol...I get what your saying and you're right. I shouldn't be commenting so negatively about her and the others. All I wanted last year was some broody hens. I think my wish got duplicated because I received more than I can really handle...lol. (7 or 9 broodies in total)

I've got 4 nests and all H breaks loose when they all set. I'll have it set up better next year.
I really feel bad when I have to take their eggs...they're distraught about it. Louise, my OEGB gets depressed and lacks interest in food. She breaks my heart.

Just to show that a broody's stink eye doesn't end with the hatching of her eggs, here is Lil'Girl doing her best "stick that hand out one more time and try to touch that bowl of scrambled eggs and you will draw back a stub" look with her then 6 week old BO and OEGB 'babies'. She wasn't the best broody but she is one heck of a mom and just recently weaned her babes at 12 weeks. They still look to her for company at times but mainly they are on their own now.
