Thanks! And don't worry, the snake is harmless - an Eastern hognose. When they feel threatened they flatten their heads to mimic dangerous snakes, and if that doesn't work they often roll onto their back and play dead. After taking this picture I shooed away the guineas so the snake could get away in peace. You have a nice variety of colors.

It's still a snake. Thanks! And don't worry, the snake is harmless - an Eastern hognose. It's still a snake.I've run screaming from even baby snakes.
Gorgeous flock.
I agree that snakes are beneficial. I like having them around.Aw, that's a shame. Most snakes are harmless and quite beneficial. I'm much more concerned about ticks. Both my dogs are on tick preventative, but they still tested positive for lyme exposure and some other tick-borne illness I've forgotten the name of - which is why I have the guineas! I haven't found a tick near the house since getting these goofy birds.
Do they ever try going higher into the tree? That does look like a good place to hang out.View attachment 3681938
The flock enjoying the chicken tree toy I made.
