Wow, pretty guinea fowl. That snake is freaking me out.
Thanks! And don't worry, the snake is harmless - an Eastern hognose. When they feel threatened they flatten their heads to mimic dangerous snakes, and if that doesn't work they often roll onto their back and play dead. After taking this picture I shooed away the guineas so the snake could get away in peace.

Aw, that's a shame. Most snakes are harmless and quite beneficial. I'm much more concerned about ticks. Both my dogs are on tick preventative, but they still tested positive for lyme exposure and some other tick-borne illness I've forgotten the name of - which is why I have the guineas! I haven't found a tick near the house since getting these goofy birds.

I agree that snakes are beneficial. I like having them around.

On the other hand........ 😑.... Ugh, ticks, they are THE WORST. They all need to disappear. I want to get some guineas, for that purpose.
