Ended Official BYC Mini-Contest - What’s Your Hobby

I doodle to relieve stress and meditate as well as create greeting cards for family and friends. I am a complete amateur but it is a wonderful way to stay focused and grounded in times of distress. ie....2020. The only sacrifice is my wallet! So many pens and pencils. I love to doodle whenever I can, which is quite a bit as I await back surgery.

Beautiful

I like to doodle too only compared to yours mine looks like scribble scrabble

If this thread is still open for entries, then here's mine.

I am an artist. I like to draw traditionally on paper w/ a pencil, then inking it in and coloring it w/ markers. Sorry that the drawing example isn't very good quality...

I love these!!!! Especially “breathe” and the flowers. 😻😻😻😻😻

OH. Also. I think you’ve graduated from “doodles”. Here.... let me show you the extent of my art skills which are far more “doodle” like. I’ll even make a flower so we can compare. :lau

We used to play marbles as kids. I absolutely loved my pretty marbles too! I wonder if they're still around somewhere...

I have not thought about marbles in years

I remember that I only played with the marbles that I did not like in case someone won them and they did

And I would try to win the ones that I liked the best and I did

Rock & Fossil Collecting

As a kid I was interested in geology, paleontology, and mineralogy. One of my very first jobs was working at a countertop fabrication company because I just loved working with all of the beautiful granite and marble (ok, the pay was good too, lol!). I never really grew out of my love for rocks and fossils though and I still enjoy collecting pretty stones. I've even dabbled at lapidary tumbling, polishing and would like to get a lapidary machine to facet my own jewelry one day. It's not uncommon to find different stones throughout my house but my favorite pieces are primarily displayed in a display case and all of my amethyst is on the fireplace mantle.

I started collecting rocks around 2008 as I was walking around at my son’s school swim meets and park and school football games or if we went anywhere special
there’s so many rocks in the ground
I wash them and put them in glass and plastic containers and baskets at work and home

I consider myself a doodler rather than an artist but when my mom asked for a family portrait for her birthday, I thought it was funny to give her a doodle version. She ended up loving it so much she framed it in her place.
