My girls seem to like to have the crumbles better than pellets. I've never tried mash

I've never tried pellets or mash, but crumbles work well for me. My hens get a mixture of Scratch & Peck, and another more standard layer crumble.

Question--how big are pellets, typically? I always feel like if I were a chicken, pellets would be harder to swallow than crumbles. But maybe it is just me. I know many people use pellets.

You can actually get different size pellets depending on the brand. I know Nutrena Feeds makes a smaller/skinner pellet than most brands I’ve seen, but my chickens don’t seem to have a problem with the big or little.

I've used pellets, crumbles, and mash before. Currently, I am using a mash from a local feed mill.
