About a year and a half. We’d discussed it for about 6 years before hand and ended up getting covid chickens last April. Funnily enough we’d actually had them ordered for about 2 months precovid that’s just when they happened to ship!

Over 30 years in my present location (South Louisiana), 5 years prior to that in the Carolinas.

About 11 years this time. Another lifetime ago I had chickens for about ten years, I think.

Over three years. I just got my first bantam breed this year though, never thought I'd bother with the tiny ones. They grow on ya!

Just about 1 year plus 1 week
This is my handsome hen who laid the very first egg for my chicken journey. She is molting now but still laying egg, made me a bit worried about her.

Around a year...
I couldn't imagine my life without them. I'm so used to seeing chickens sneaking into the house and running around in the garden! The chicken run is always the place I go when I'm upset or nervous- my feathered friends always make me feel better.
I've learnt so much about chickens since then, all thanks to BYC!

I can't believe how addicted I've gotten... I started with 2 and ended up with 10 (in less than a year!)

I had them as a kid along with horses & did the whole 4H thing . Just finally could have them again after raising a child & working 2 jobs most of my adult life ……..last 2 years have been glorious , first thing I did moving back to the country was build a coop ( even before the house ) and had fluffies while living in a camper . Working 30 a week has finally allowed me to have chickens & garden again !!!!!!!!!!!

One year 4 months. We bought our house almost 8 years ago with the intention of someday having chickens. With kids in school, then colleges at opposite ends of the state and going back to work, I didn't think I had time for chickens. Last year, I couldn't go anywhere besides work, so I decided to finally get my chickens. Now, just over a year later, I can go places besides work, but I don't want to go anywhere besides my chicken run I love my chickens!!
